Felix Ureta, a professional tennis player from Santiago, Chile attended EC
during the summer for 3 months. Felix writes that he "loves Saratoga
Springs!" Felix travelled to California and Florida during his stay in the U.S.
Federica Pace of Rome, Italy attended EC for 3 months in the fall. She is currently
working at her father's company in Rome. EC staff recently visited Federica while
in Rome opening another EC branch.
Alexandre Furtado da Silva, from Curitiba-Parana, Brazil is currently travelling
around San Francisco, California. Alexandre is thinking about pursuing a Master's Degree
in International Law here in the United States. Alex is a certified lawyer in his country
of Brazil.
Victor Zarate, from Panama City, Panama attended EC in the fall. Victor works
in the accounting department of a large company in Panama called Grupo Melo, S.A. and
needed to learn English as the company does business with many countries worldwide.
Victor is married and has one child.
Cuauhtemoc Perez Roman, from Mexicali, Mexico attened EC's Corporate &
Professional Executive Business English Program during the summer months. Cuauhtemoc
is President and CEO of Urbi Desarrollos Urbanos, S.A., one of the largest urban
development companies in Mexico.
Genevieve Robe, from Brussels, Belgium attended EC for 6 months. She is
currently back in Belgium and planning to get married in November.
Jumi Rho, from Korea, participated in the Intensive English Language & Cultural
Immersion Program at EC this past summer for two and a half months. Jumi is currently
living in Rome with her family as her father works with the United Nations in Rome. She is
attending the American University of Rome in Italy.
Jana Matiasovska writes and faxes EC regularly from Bratislava, Republic of
Slovakia. Jana is still teaching at Comenius University in Bratislava and enjoys it very
much. Jana is married and has two daughters.
Xenia Viquez-Fulmer from San Jose, Costa Rica recently married Mark Fulmer, a
Saratoga Springs native. Xenia and Mark are currently living in New Hampshire.
Dr. Valery Fradkov, of Russia recently relocated to Alabama and is now working with
NASA at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Prior to joining NASA,
Valery was a Research Scientist in the Department of Materials Engineering at Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
Virginie Faron, from Gex, France is working at the United Nations in Geneva,
Switzerland. Virginie's host family in the U.S. (David and Vicky Bellows) visited Virginie
in Europe last Spring. Together, they travelled throughout France, Switzerland and Italy.
Eleonora Giussani, of Rome, Italy, is currently working with Alitalia Airlines.
Eleonora says that she is enjoying her work very much and is practicing her English on a
regular basis.
Emanule Giussani, also of Rome, Italy was working with his father's film production
company, "Sacha Film and Television Productions Company." Emaneule has now
decided to pursue a banking career and is a financial advisor at a bank in Rome.
Nacira Camacho of San Jose, Costa Rica is currently studying at EC headquarters in
Saratoga Springs.
Elena Bogantes, also of San Jose, Costa Rica, is studying at EC and living with an
American family and just loving it. She says "I love my English Classes." Elena
is planning to pursue a career in teaching.
Paolo Cavalotti, of Genoa, Italy was enrolled in the Executive Business English
Program this past summer. Paolo is employed with Seatram, S.R.L. a sea transport company
importing and exporting goods worldwide.
Chih-Chen (Jessica) Yin from Taipei City, Taiwan attended EC's Intensive English
Language & Cultural Immersion Program this past summer. Chih-Chen is currently
attending Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Renata Perpetuo, is back in her country of Brazil. Renata attended EC this Fall
while she was visiting her husband, Marcelo who is an Engineer with Ball Metal Container
Corporation located in Saratoga Springs. Renata and Marcelo have a son named Joao Pedro,
who is almost two years old.
Esther Affentranger, from Ennetburgen, Switzerland is working at the Burgenstock
Hotel and Resort and enjoys her work very much. On a recent trip to Switzerland, several
EC staff visited Esther at the hotel and resort located in a splendid mountainous area. If
anyone is planning a trip to Switzerland, the Burgenstock Hotel would be a great place to
relax and enjoy the beautiful sights of Switzerland.
Masakatsu, Takumi and Chie Hoshi, from Japan, studied English as a Second Language here at
EC this past fall. This wonderful family of three is currently living in New York.
Masakatsu is working at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) conducting research.
Valeria Canelli, of Milan, Italy is studying at the University of Milan. Val wrote to us
from St. Moritz, Switzerland recently while vacationing with her family.
Patricia Hernandez, of Costa Rica, is currently studying at EC in Saratoga Springs.
Patricia loves America, Americans, and the English language.
Josette Dewey, of Switzerland, is currently working for Rexall Showcase International.
Josette is fulfilling the requirements for her Master's Degree.
Chi Nguyen, of Vietnam, was one of our students who participated in the photo shoot for
the EC catalogue. Thank you Chi!
Friedemann Buschbeck, of Germany writes that all is well and he misses EC and Saratoga
Springs. Friedmann is repairing old organs (piano-like musical instruments) throughout the
world.
Andrea Ramirez, of Costa Rica, has been travelling around Florida recently. Andrea is from
San Jose and she is currently studying English at ENGLISH CONNECTION.
Juan Pereyra Etcheverria, of Spain, is the Director of Finance at a cement company in
Madrid. Juan is married and has eight children.
Arianna De Marchi, of Nice, France is studying at Glasgow University in Scotland. Arianna
was vacationing in Ottawa, Canada this past summer.
Marcella Allais, from Italy, is the Director of an Italian language school in
Milan. Marcella writes that she is very busy but she loves what she is doing.
Claude & Francoise Cauvet, from Rennes, France are both employed by SynQuest, Inc.
Claude and Francoise recently moved to New York. They have a daughter, Marion, who is
almost three years old.
Fabrice & Erika Riviere, also from France, are employed by SynQuest, Inc. as well.
They have a son, Eilian, who is two years old.
Julien Buchwalder from Delemont, Switzerland is working with his father at Reinhart,
S.P.A. Julien faxes us often to say hello and says that he will be travelling to Italy
soon to compete in a motorcycle race. Julien competes in both national and international
Motocross competitions regularly.
Luigi Gigante, of Roma, Italy is still working with Nuovo Pignone Roma, a subsidiary of
General Electric in Europe. EC staff was recently in Rome, Italy attending an EC Reunion
with former students. Everyone had a great time and it was wonderful to talk about
all the fun times we all had spent together!
Keiko Haraguchi from Fukuoka, Japan is attending Baruch College in Manhattan. Some of the
EC staff saw Keiko recently in New York City while attending a show in the theater
district.
Marie-Claire Dreyfuss, of Geneva, Switzerland, has passed the entrance exam required to be
admitted to the "Ecole Normale" in Neuchatel. After Marie-Claire finishes her
studies at this school, she will be a certified primary school teacher.
Antonio Bruzzone, of Genoa, Italy is employed by an importing and exporting corporation in
Italy. Antonio was enrolled in EC's Executive Business English Program.
Silvia Chaves, from San Jose, Costa Rica, has travelled extensively around Europe and
spent several months in Madrid, Spain during the past year. Silvia is back in Costa Rica
and is currently the manager of a restaurant in Jaco Beach.
Andrea Carbonari, of Verona, Italy is still working at Calzaturificio Jumbo, S.P.A. Andrea
was married to Elena Danieli on July 20, 1996.
Hui Yu, of China, is currently studying English at EC. Yu has plans to continue her
education in the US.
