Admissions

ENGLISH CONNECTION offers rolling admissions with sessions beginning on every
Monday for any duration students desire. All program fees are inclusive of tuition,
accommodation and meals where indicated.
Tuition, registration and all program fees must be paid in full before the start
of classes. Costs stated in this application are accurate at time of printing. ENGLISH
CONNECTION reserves the right to change any of the above as deemed necessary without
notice. Accommodation rates may vary depending on the season and availability.

l Registration/Application
A registration fee of $95.00 (non-refundable) is required to process your
application. In order to apply, you must send your completed registration form along with
the processing fee of $95.00. No applications will be accepted by telephone. You may fax
your application, but you will not be officially registered until ENGLISH CONNECTION
receives the application fee. If you are mailing the application less than 6 weeks before
classes begin, it is a good idea to use Express Mail.

l Accommodation
Indicate the type of accommodation you desire such as Teacher, Family,
Apartment, or Hotel. Accommodation begins the weekend (Saturday or Sunday) before classes
start, and ends the weekend after classes finish. If you would like to arrive before, you
will be charged additional nights. The same applies after the course is finished.
Additional information for making arrangements for accommodation before and after classes
will be mailed to you after your application is received. Alternative lodging arrangements
can be made to accommodate groups as well. * If you decide to make your own living
arrangements and would like information regarding the cost of English instruction only,
please contact our office for current fee schedules.

l Departure & Arrival
Upon receipt of your registration form, we will need to know the exact date and
time schedule of your departure and arrival. This is extremely important. We must know
when you are departing in order to track possible delays in the airlines.

l Level
Check your approximate level and knowledge of the English language. We need this
information in advance, to have an idea of your language needs. You will be given a
placement test when you arrive.

l Starting Date
All classes usually begin on Monday. If Monday is a religious, national or bank
holiday, then classes will start on the next day.

l Passport & Visa Requirements
All students will need a valid passport to enter the United States. If you do
not already hold a valid passport, try to apply for this at least 6 weeks in advance. Some
countries are required to have a visa as well. Check with the American Embassy or
Consulate in your country for specific information regarding your situation and needs.

l I-20 Forms
Please contact our office regarding the issuance of I-20 Forms. I-20 Forms are
only issued to students who want to study full-time at ENGLISH CONNECTION.

l Deadlines/Late Registration
There are no deadlines for attending ENGLISH CONNECTION. However, if you enroll
less than 6 weeks in advance for the months of July and August, we cannot guarantee your
first choice of accommodation as these months are very popular. Saratoga Springs is a
famous resort area and many people come to this area during these months. If you want to
attend during July and August, you should try to submit your application as soon as
possible.

l Payments
A registration fee of $95.00 must accompany the completed registration form to
be considered for acceptance into the program.
Final payment should be received no later than 30 days prior to starting date of classes.
If payment is received less than 30 days before the starting date, application must be
accompanied by payment in full + $100.00 late fee. Payment may be made by cashier's check,
international money order, transfer of funds via Telex from any international bank, Money
Gram, American Express, Mastercard, Visa or the equivalent. To transfer funds directly via
Telex, contact our office for details.

l Transportation
All students must make arrangements to fly into JFK International Airport in New
York. To arrive in Saratoga Springs, students may travel via train, bus or air to Albany,
New York. A direct shuttle service to and from JFK airport terminal to Albany, New York is
also available. Students may also fly directly into Albany International Airport.
Upon arrival in Albany, New York, ENGLISH CONNECTION staff will greet and transport all
students directly to their place of stay throughout the Saratoga Springs area.

l Age Restrictions
Unaccompanied students should be over the age of 18. However, younger students
may be accepted if one of the following apply:
1. Student is accompanied by a parent, or other adult over the age of 21.
2. Accommodation with teacher only is approved.

l Refund Policy
The application fee of $95.00 is non-refundable. All fees for each session must
be paid in full before the start of classes. No tuition refunds can be given for late
entrance, absence, withdrawal, or dismissal. However, ENGLISH CONNECTION will try to
accommodate students' itinerary by issuing a credit which can be used at a later date, not
to exceed three years. Written notification from the student must be received by the
Director of English Language Programs at ENGLISH CONNECTION prior to the date classes
begin. The student is responsible to make sure the request is in writing and authorized.
Submitting the application indicates acceptance of these conditions.

l Health Insurance
ENGLISH CONNECTION offers a health insurance plan that is available to all
international students. Students may obtain health insurance protection directly through
ENGLISH CONNECTION or use their personal insurance. Students are responsible for making
sure they have personal health insurance and are covered under their present policy while
in the United States. ENGLISH CONNECTION is not responsible in any way whatsoever for any
part of any medical bills.

l Liability
ENGLISH CONNECTION will not accept liability for changes in programs due to
strikes, inclement weather, or other circumstances beyond their control. ENGLISH
CONNECTION will not accept liability for any loss or damage to possessions, or personal
injury incurred by any student either by studying at ENGLISH CONNECTION or when
participating in ENGLISH CONNECTION organized activities, or when participating in
unofficial activities with other ENGLISH CONNECTION students, or when student is on
his/her own any time during his/her stay in country or en route to and from country. All
students should take out personal insurance covering accident, illness, robbery, loss or
damage to personal property, etc.
