English Connection Expands Overseas

English Connection to Open Branch in Italy
Highlights: English Connection, a Saratoga Springs-based school that provides Intensive English Language and Cultural Immersion Programs, will open a branch in Rome, Italy.
Joanne P. Kubricky, the company’s president and CEO, is leaving Saratoga in early November to make the final physical and legal arrangements for the new English Connection school scheduled to open early next year, according to the statement from the company.
English Connection, with headquarters at 480 Broadway in downtown Saratoga Springs, New York, provides a full academic program for people from other countries who what to learn the English language and the American culture.
Past clients have included college students, military and government officials, diplomats, pilots, professional athletes and corporate executives.
The Ball Corporation, which operates a metal container plant in Saratoga Springs, used English Connection to teach 44 Brazilian engineers English in preparation for the opening of a Ball Corp. plant in Brazil.
English Connection, a division of Connect International Corp., is certified by New York State Education Department and is listed in the New York State English as a Second Language School Registry.
Kubricky is planning to bring some of her school’s American teachers to Italy and is coordinating housing and visa arrangements as well.
“The demand for English language education abroad is very exciting and English Connection will be filling a specific niche in that we will be teaching American English to very enthusiastic and motivated Italian people,” Kubricky said.
